Since technology is easy to be access by anyone, internet users or what we call netizens should be aware that just like in the society that we are living in, the real world, and the society in the internet has the same concept. It’s all about the citizenship, if we are going to define what is citizenship it is a quality that a person is expected to have as a responsible member of a community and if we are going to talk about the digital it deals with the use of technology and computers and if it is already combined, the two words will mean that it is all about the proper behavior and attitude while using the internet and while interacting with other people in the virtual world.
for further elaboration, let’s cite some example of what digital citizenship is. When two people are using the internet as a mode of communication it is called interaction, with this example we can get an idea that these two particular people are sharing their thoughts within each other. Another example is that, whenever a netizen saw something such as point of view, respecting his/her opinion is also a sign of digital citizenship. There are so many ways of interacting with other users, there are sites that let other users connect with each other such as the public wikis, with this kind of site, they can collaborate with one another and create new set of ideas that they can also share with other people.
The Digital Citizenship also talks about the aspects in the real world such as the empathy that netizens should feel whenever they use the internet, just think about what if they are the one who created that work such as an article and many people disrespect it.
In digital Citizenship, people can create new ideas by just interacting with each other, they can also help each other by means of correcting if there was a mistake about something that they created in an honest and in a professional way.
