MYTHOLOGY: THE ADVENTURES OF AENEAS

SUMMARY

The adventures of Aeneas or Aeneid is all about his journey to conquer the Italy, which is the land that was destined to be his own country. Just like the other adventures, Aeneid faced a lot of unfortunate events including a storm that killed his ship captain, which also lead them to the island of the cyclops. He also went to the underworld together with a woman who could foretell the future, which they saw unbearable pain and sufferings. At the end, they went to Italy and fought the Latins and the Rutulians, after the chaotic event they won and the fate of Aeneas was successful and blood of Trojans run the whole country.

EVALUATION
Based on other accounts, some part of the stories are not told in the story, for example, At the beginning, Aeneas almost killed Helen because he thought that she is the reason why the Trojan War happened. He was stopped by his mother Aphrodite and explained that it was because of the hatred among gods and goddesses. Just like the other stories included in this book, there are words that is so difficult to understand makes the reader feel anxious about it. The story began in the part where Aeneid escaped the chaotic war in the Troy, after that, they set sail to conquer his journey that was told in his dream and then went to the underworld and lastly to Italy, which makes the story organized.

RESPONSE

My personal evaluation in this story is that it has significance which is it is applicable in our own lives, we can use this as our inspiration whenever there are times of darkness so therefore, we can recommend this to our family, friends and those people whom we know faces a lot of challenges. In the aspect of credibility, there might be an exclusion of some events which may or maybe not important to the story but overall the story is reliable, it based on the original version.

CONCLUSION

As a conclusion to this story, there are times that we encounter misfortunes that leads to terrible experiences for us, but in this story it tells the reader not to give no matter how hard the journey is, what hindrances might occur in our lives, we must not stop to chase our dreams because of something or someone. The strength of this is that it is a credible source of information but in the other end, it may affect the reader in terms of difficulty in comprehending the words that are unfamiliar to them.
